Have you ever considered voluntary work?

National Cruelty Line
0300 1234 999 (24 hrs)

We rely on volunteers to carry out a variety of duties, from fundraising to fostering; volunteers play a vital role within the branch. For our work to continue successfully, your skills and abilities could make a real difference to the animals in our care.

Ways you could help
We are always on the lookout for the following volunteers:

Home Visitors:
Whenever an animal is re-homed in this area either from one of the many RSPCA animal centres throughout the country or from our branch care, we always perform a pre-adoption and a post-adoption check on the new owners facilities. These checks are done by fully trained volunteers - You could train to be a volunteer home checker for the RSPCA - further details can be found here.

Fundraising Assistants:
The RSPCA receives no state funding; all our work is financed by donations from the public. In order to continue this much needed work, fundraising is critically important. We run a variety of events from dog shows to dances to tin collections. All these events are organized and staffed by volunteers, no special training is needed just some spare time - further details can be found here.

Shop Assistants:
RSPCA North Wiltshire branch run two shops in our area - Swindon and Chippenham. We are always looking for people to help in these shops so if you live in or near one of these towns and have some time to spare you could really contribute to animal welfare in this area simply by helping in one of our shops for a few hours a week / fortnight / month - further details can be found here.

Foster Homes:
We need people willing to offer short, medium and sometimes long term foster homes to animals whilst they await re-homing to a permanent residence. We can provide cat pens, rabbit hutches etc. and the branch usually meets the costs of food and upkeep for fostered animals - further details can be found here.

Current vacancies:
We currently have a need for a Marketing PR, a Driver and a Handy person - click for further details.

The list really is endless so even if you feel that none of the above is for you but would still like to volunteer in some way, please call us and we'll see what we can do. But one thing you can be sure of - and that is that every penny raised goes directly towards animal welfare and helps us to ensure that we can offer our services to those most in need.

So, if you have a bit of time to spare and are interested in helping, please take at look at our FAQs  and download the shop volunteer application form or the general volunteer application form. Once you have completed the form please send or email to the address on the form so that your application can be processed.

If you are unable to download and print these forms please call 01793 640136 to pass on your interest or email info@rspcanorthwilts.org.uk with your details.
