The Gorse Hill charity shop opened its current premises in February 2010, prior to this we had a very small shop just up the road. As takings grew, we realised that a larger premises was desperately needed.
Our shop is in the suburbs of the town but we have a bank, post office, two small supermarkets and other charity shops serving a vibrant residential area. This area is located in an older part of the town with rows of terraced housing and a good mix of family homes and smaller rental properties, this gives our shop a good variety of customers young and not so young but making ladies clothing followed by bric-a-brac the top sellers.
Donations are always welcome and we encourage all our donors to sign up for Gift Aid.
Amongst our brilliant team of shop volunteers, we have two, Jill and Malcolm that have volunteered for over ten years. Malcolm also does regular trips to Bath cats and dogs’ home to deliver all the pet food, sheets and blankets that are donated by our generous customers to help the animals.
Barra, Malcolm’s dog was adopted from Bath and is a willing helper in our shop twice weekly.
